Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

My friend Rented a TV from rent-a-center.

She paid like 1200$ on it.

She moved to a different city, Chnaged jobs (not cuz of that) change numbers.

Can rent a center Filed criminal charges or just take her to civil court.

She currently does not have that tv from rent -a - center

it broke.

whta are her options

ANy answer would help THANK!!!!

If the TV was never returned, it's a form of theft, so criminal charges could be brought against her. There may be defenses to it, however, which is why she'd want to contact a criminal lawyer if it happened.
