garnishmen

my wages have been garnished for a 3,000. credit card debt. the garnishment has far exceeded the loan amount. is there anyway i can stop this garnishment? Please advise.

Th garnishment must be based on a judgment against you. You can stop the garnishment by filing a motion for installment payments in the court in which the garnishment issued. However, by such a motion you have to commit to pay a monthly amount to the creditor. So long as you pay the amount as approved by the court, the creditor is prevented from garnishing your wages.
