Almost any litigation lawyer can assist you with this matter. You could try to negotiate a settlement with the hospital yourself, to save you lawyer fees, and see what kind of payment plan they'd offer you. However, you should have (and maybe did), explore this option prior to them suing you. Now that they've sue, they will want lawyers fees, costs, etc.

If you don't respond to the lawsuit, or it goes to the point where they get a judgment against you, they can and will garnish your paycheck until the judgment is paid off in full.

You have some options/defenses to this suit. Even if you owe the money we can control how much & how quickly you have to pay this back. We can try to negotiate a settlement to dismiss the suit and see if we can limit or alleviate the effect on your credit.
