Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan
mich wage garnishment
I wonder if a husband's wages can be garnished for a wife's bill, if he didn't sign for the bill.

If only your wife was sued and a judgment was entered against her only, your wages cannot be garnished.
If a judgment is entered against you, possibly your wages can be garnished. It is very important that you never ignore a summons and complaint served on you because you can find yourself legally liable for a debt you do not owe.

Assuming the husband is not on the judgment which whomever seeking the garnishment has, his wages couldn't be garnished in most circumstances. We do a substantial amount of collections work, if you've been incorrectly garnished please feel free to contact us as we offer a free consultation.
