Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan
money/lien
I'm a subcontractor and a contractor owed me money for a bunch of jobs. He didn't have the money so I had him write me a check for the job's at end of year so we could do taxes and I wrote him a check for same amount and called it a loan. He made a few payments but still can't pay me off. I want some kind of protection. Can I file some kind of lien? He has an LLC. Amounts to around $11k. Thanks

Re: money/lien
lien against what? collateral of a vehicle or something else he owns would be good, because otherwise you only have a promise to pay. Bankruptcy is also an option for an unsecured debt. Visit www.kliszlaw.com to discuss in detail, Tim Klisz
