Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

mortgage default

I have a fha mortgage on a home that i don't live in but is listed by a realestate company, the home is in default but has not foreclosed. The mortgage company changed the locks. Did the mortgage company have the legal right to do so when the property is still in my name?

Re: mortgage default

Yes, the mortgage company may secure the property if it appears abandoned. If the property is not abandoned, you need to let the mortgage company know the status.
