Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

personal property

I broke up with my boyfriend and he has left a car, trailer and many personal items on my property. What do I need to do to have them removed legally?

Can I take possession?

Re: personal property

You need to make sure he has every opportunity to get his stuff. Put it somewhere he can easily reach it, send him a letter telling him to come get his stuff, and tell him you refuse to be responsible for it. Then, if he doesn't come get it in a few months, write him another letter and tell him you're going to have it hauled to the dump or sold, whichever you prefer, if he doesn't make arrangements. If he's in your same town, then you can make the period much shorter. A few weeks is fair enough.
