Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

this is my question, i am on ss and get very little. my x was helping with my penney charge until he recently got laid off and can no longer help. well, i got a call from penney about my pament. i owe about 4,000.00 . i have no home and find myself staying with family and friends. how can i keep them from calling ? thank you for your help.

If it was a third party, you could write a letter to them telling them not to contact you. However, since it is the creditor that you owe money to, you cannot stop them from calling. Simply block their number with the phone company.
