Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

I received a Credit Card Debt Summons from a law firm. Do I need to hire an attorney to answer them or in this early stage, can I ask them for a Validation Letter? Given their reply, I can then hire an attorney if needed. Many thanks!!

You have to answer the complaint or be held in default, period. You need to answer the complaint under the Court Rules or have an attorney do it for you. After that, negotiations are in order unless you really contest the debt. Tim Klisz kliszlaw.com
