Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

My son is in prison. He received notice about civil lawsuit. I called the lawyer and said they had bad service because my son doesn't live with us. I also sent a letter to the jude. They proceeded with the court date and judgement was made against him. No criminal charges were filed against him for this issue. He didnt get his day in court. What options does he have now to fight this?

A motion to set aside the default judgment may be in order. Your son needs to consult with an attorney to advise him of all of his options. For example, bankruptcy may be an option.
