Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

Tournament Winnings Not Being Divided Among Players

I played in a video game with some friends in a tournament in which we won a cash prize and it was sent to the leader of the team, who was supposed to then divide it amongst the team members. There are four of us total including the leader of the team. He then was to mail us our part of the prize. He did not do this. Are they any legal actions I could take against a person who did not send out my portion or any of my teammates portions of a prize that we won as a team? Any law that would prohibit that? What sort of consequences/penalties would there be to him for not doing what he is supposed to be? Any help here would be much appreciated, thank you.

Re: Tournament Winnings Not Being Divided Among Players

He has stolen money from each of you by embezzlement. You should file a police report for the theft and file a lawsuit against him. Each of your associates should do this as well. If you utilize an attorney and sue in District Court with Counsel, you should have success and you can receive your attorney fees back.
