Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

unfair and deceptive practices/car leasing

GMAC financed a lease to a friend who, at the time was eighteen, had no credit, no valid driver's license, but enough money for a hefty down payment. She can in now way afford this car. Does she have any legal recourse in getting out of this lease?

Re: unfair and deceptive practices/car leasing

Most likely not, since she was 18 and therefore is legally bound by the contract (versus if she was a minor). If there was fraud or misrepresentations regarding the terms of the contract, then she may have a cause of action, but simply getting into a deal that she can't afford does not mean that GMAC did anything wrong.
