Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
14 months ago I stumbled on what appeared to be an abandoned train sitting in a Farmers front yard, along with a Caboose. I asked the owner of the farm if I could photograph the caboose. She said it would be fine. So I took the picture. Curiosity got the best of me and I went snooping around the locomotive and the cars. I went on one locomotive, and in one car and took several pictures. I did not break any property or do any damage to the property. 14 months later I posted the pictures on a public forum, not thinking anything of it. Well someone who works for the owners got upset about it and gave me a dressing down. I apologized and removed the pictures and swore I would never go there again. If they decide to sue me or press charges, what is the likely outcome for me if I just pay the fine and go. What would be my best strategy.

They gave you permission and are not damaged. I wouldn't worry about it. If you get contacted by police or an attorney, get your own attorney on board. Tim Klisz kliszlaw.com
