Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

2nd minor in possession

I was just wondering what I'm potentially facing with my second MIP? My first MIP I didn't even have a lawyer and only had to pay the 150 dollar fine.

It all depends what city. I can tell you it won't just be a fine. Also, you could lose your license for up to a year. Make sure you speak to an attorney before you do anything. Feel free to my office toll free at (866) M I C H D U I. Eric I. Kutinsky, Esq.

A lot depends upon where you got caught. In Livonia, you'd face fines and costs of about $500 plus probation with some court ordered substance abuse counseling.

If you are brought before a court that has an innovative drug/alcohol program in place, your life will become a lot more interesting.

In any event, upon conviction, your driver's license will be suspended for 1 year and you may get a restricted license after the first 60 days.

A lawyer could help you.
