Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

3rd Degree Retail Fraud

Last month i was caught shoplifting $28 worth of stuff by LP, the police were called and they told me a warrant will be issued. The warrant came the other day so i am going to turn myself in tomorrow. I just need to know what to expect, how much money to take with me, will i go to jail, do i need a lawyer, and most importantly will this stay on my record, can i get it removed somehow? Please help-thanks

It is very important to obtain your counsel before saying ANYTHING to the police! You can usually avoid ending up with a criminal record if this is a first offense. If you turn yourself in, you should be able to obtain a personal bond. Contact me ASAP at www.kliszlaw.com to discuss all the details. Tim Klisz

Of course you should have an attorney. You're charged with a crime. Depending on your prior record, etc. we may be able to get you through this charge with little impact on your life. This MIGHT include the ability to have the charge not on your record. We've had great success throughout all of Michigan with these cases. Call us at 1 866.766.5245
