Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
3rd Degree Retail Fraud
I was caught stealing at a Wal-Mart today, an electronics item under $20. I have a squeaky clean record, and I cooperated fully and nicely with the authorities and the men that apprehended me. I'm due to appear in court the 28th. What is my best case scenario here, and what is my worst case scenario? Also, will my teachers be notified?

The worst case is that you spend 3 months in the Kent County jail. The best case is that you hire an attorney who can negotiate with the prosecutor, get you probation, and keep this off your record including the fingerprint and arrest records. I have had several cases like yours so if you need help give me a call.
