17 year old daughter stealing from parents
Hello. My 17 year old daugther ran away from home in Oct 2007. Before leaving she stole my Ipod worth $200. Can I have her arrested for theft?

You can file a police report and tell the police that you'd like to press charges.

Let me tell you about a client of another attorney whose daughter did much the same thing.
When the police arrested her, she told them that her father had sexually molested her - that's why she had run away. He was arrested and went to jail - she then returned home.
"Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" and that goes double for runaway daughters. Don't think it can't happen to you . Her sole testimony, even if its full of lies, can ruin your life.
I would do nothing.
