Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
my 17 year old was joyriding (grand larceny in Michigan) and I need to know if I have to pay for a lawyer for him or if the state will provide him one. Can I be sued? Do I need a lawyer for myself?

If your 17 year old has been charged with a crime and cannot afford a lawyer then the US Constitution states that one will be appointed for him by the court. I need to know the circumstances of the crime in order to determine whether you would need an attorney.
