Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
I am 17 years old and I recently recived an MIP, I have never been in any legal trouble whatsoever. The State Trooper gave me a Misdemeanor paper that told me to call within 10 days to set up a court date, I called several times, but every time they told me that they have no record of me getting in trouble of any sort and told me to try later. The 10 days have scince expired. What happened and what should I do?

You should hire a defense attorney to look out for your interests. This is a crime and you should treat it seriously. www.kliszlaw.com Tim Klisz
The State Police often delay filings with the local court for one reason or another - sometimes months will go by before the court knows who you are. A trooper may will file all the MIP's he's collected in a certain time period so that he can make just one court appearance for all of them.
I'd call once a week for a while. MIP's are not much of a priority. You're not going to jail.
