Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
I was with my ex for 5 years and during that time, she stayed at my house on and off but never fully lived with me. We got engaged, but I broke it off. After breaking off the engagement, she went to my house while I was gone, and took all of my everyday living items such as my tv, vacuum, steam cleaner, the ring for the engagement, etc. I filed a claim with my insurance because she refused to give back the stuff. She sent pictures to the insurance company saying that she had the stuff and she lived there. She was never on my lease. The insurance company said that they believed she lived there, and wouldn't replace it. After filing a police report, the police said it was a civil matter. If I take her to court, is it possible the ruling will be in my favor?

No. She gets to keep the ring. And....if she contributed any money to the daily living at your house, you won't get any of the other stuff back either.
Unless you have a contract in writing, she gets to keep everything except the engagement ring. You can sue for that because an engagement ring is a promise to marry. If that falls through, you may sue for it.
