Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
I am being accused of Receiving & Concealing for two computers that were found in someone else's residence. My name was on both computers as I had used them before while visiting this residence. The police report states that a witness advised them that they saw me bring the computers into the residence, but the witness denies saying this. Witness does not plan on testifying if it goes to trial and the police have no sworn statement or recording of this witness's supposed statements. What are my options? I chose to excercise my constitutional right to remain silent when they tried to question me. The computers were in plain sight inside the residence, which again, was not my place of residence.
