Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

Acquitted of Charges but Wondering About My Record

My question involves criminal records for the state of: Michigan

I received 2 misdemeanor charges for MDOP and Drunk Disord. I received this for walking home drunk being helped by 2 friends and I tripped and fell into a bush and this made the officer give me both charges. They both went to a bench trial and I was found not guilty on both counts. Before this I have had absolutely NOTHING on my record.

I have done a lot of research to find out if anything will remain on my record but finding nothing conclusive. I read the MCL 28.243, but from this, I take back that I should be all set because it is automatically done but digging more I find that I might have to fill out form MC235, is this true? Also this takes care of the fingerprints and arrest record but what about the charges record?

Basically, my question is will my criminal record/any type of record now be like the way it was before these charges were brought upon me even though I was found not guilty for both of them.

Any help is appreciated,

Thanks

While there are no court records, there maybe fingerprint and arrest cards still with the arresting agency or state police. You need to file form MC235 and the court will order the destruction of these records if they exist
