Plead not guilty and retain a lawyer to represent you. Look for an attorney that makes criminal defense a primary focus of their practice. There are ways to minimize the damage of this type of charge.

Make sure you DO NOT DRIVE to the court. Also, if your license was suspended for not paying (tickets, restitution), it'd be a good idea to pay up and bring the receipts to court.
