Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

Can I get arrest for this?

Today leaving work, another car had its window busted out, called down to the PD, on the non-emergency number and could not file a report, because the vehicle did not belong to me. I could not find the owner. There were somethings outside of the car that looked as if they had fallen out, like and ID, cigarrettes, and a notebook. Since I knew the police were not coming I decided to put the things back in the car and lock the doors, and close the trunck which was open. I did this out of courtesy, and becasue I have been the victim of a crime as such. When I got home I talked to my roommate, about the issue and he said if my prints are found on or in the car that the police can get an arrest warrant and arrest me. To be honest I never thought about it until he mentioned it. I called the police but they did not take any personal information of mine and I really have no proof of the call. Is my friend right, can I be arrested for this, because me prints are found in or on the car?

Re: Can I get arrest for this?

Yes you could. It was not the smartest thing to do, as it was not your car, nor your stuff. Imagine if someone came across you at the scene of the crime, like the owner of the vehicle. Luckily you probably don't have your prints in the LIEN system, so you are probably ok. If you do get cheaged, say nothing to anyone and hire an attorney fast.
