Re: Arrest warrant
If you are on probation in Michigan and you violate your probation you should assume that a warrant will be issued for your arrest. Once the bench warrant is issued, it will enter into the law enforcement information network and should you have contact with law enforcement, you will be arrested. It is very likely that an extradition order would be issued unless it is a very minor offense (e.g.- mip). Even then, an extradition order could be entered.
Re: Arrest warrant
The answer is, it depends on the situation. Many warrants have limits on them. For example, it may only be enforceable in the State of Michigan. Or, only extraditable within a certain amount of miles. Many states do not want to spend a lot of money extraditing a person for a minor type of offense. Other states will extradite on anything and everything. You can find out if they will extradite by calling the police department's warrants division in the county where the warrant originated. The best thing to do in these situations is to go back to the jurisdiction and take care of the case. If you are arrested out of state on a warrant, they will hold you and make you post bond on the warrant. If you are extradited, you will be responsible for paying the cost of the police coming to get you in whatever state you are in. If you get back to the jurisdiction and take care of the matter yourself, things will go better for you and it will be less costly.
