Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
If you were arrested in Michigan for an old felony that is 7 years old and is close to being dropped ( like 6 weeks close, will you be in jail for a long period of time? is there a possibility of being released on bail? The charge is Stolen Property, a felony D. He was like 17 years old at the time, now he is 25.
Situation:
My fiance, a friend, and I got pulled over in the state of Idiana, they arrested him for a 7/ 8 year old warrent that he received in Michigan. He is waiting to be transferred to Michigan. He has filled out a form requesting a non-transfer, which i think takes up to 10 businesss days to process.
Now, when he gets to michigan, they will give him a court date, but i just want to know if there is bail/bond usually involved with a case like this. Like I said, the warrent was suppose to be dropped in 6 weeks. If I do have to get a lawyer to lower his time if he has alot of it ( which i kinda doubt), Can anyone recommend me a lawyer, that is WORTH my time, not expensive, and will work with me.. like they wont expect pay unless we win the case or whatever.
******Can he get parole? probation?****
Thanks in advance.

Lawyers cannot legally or ethically get paid based on the outcome of a criminal case. If he is facing jail, he certainly get a court appointed lawyer. Otherwise felony charges are expensive to defend. Tim Klisz kliszlaw.com
With many things in life, you get what you pay for. Often times, the better lawyers don't work cheap.
If he cannot afford to hire a lawyer, he might have to settle for a court appointed lawyer.
