Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
Assault and Battery 3 months later
I was not arrested but taken to the hospital after an altercation with some people in the street. After no legal notification for 3 months, I found out that I'm being charged with Assault/Battery. Is there a time limit on something like this? Also, no one else involved was charged even though I was the one most severely injured. What's the deal with that?

You are well within the time limit and the injury stated in your post isn't a defense to A&B.

The prosecuting attorney usually has years during which he can charge you. However, you certainly shouldn't let yourself be walked all over by the prosecutor or cops. Hire an aggressive attorney to fight for you. Feel free to call us at 1 866 7NoJail
