Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
I was assaulted by my boyfriend in November and he was arrested on aggravated assault charges. I have been contacted numerous times asking me to drop the charges. He contacted me last week and said he loved me. I called him back the next day and met him. I was feeling emotional and I still love him. He taped out conversation without my knowledge. I told him everything he wanted to hear. That I would help drop the charges if he took me back along with other things basically telling him I lied. I just wanted the harassment to stop from friends and wanted him back. He then turned the tape in to the prosecutor. So here it is. There is a taped very personal conversation of me lying about lying. The assault did occur. I don't know why I said those things, but I messed up the case. Should I get another attorney or just wIt to see if the prosecutor drops the case.

There should be a no contact order in place preventing contact between the two of you to prevent these types of situations. Feel free to contact me to discuss your situation. You may contact me on my alternate (after hours) business line.
Be careful. You could be charged with filing a false report. If you get charged (unlikely I think) then get a lawyer right away. On the other hand, he likely violated a no contact order and may get his bond revoked.
