Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
Attempted Murder?
I went with my husband last weekend to pick his girls up in White Cloud. His ex-girlfriend had some of her friends block us in on a back road and one tried to ram us head on with a big truck. My husband jumped out and pulled the wheel and grabbed the guy.. the guy rolled up his window and backed up and tried to run my husband over and then yelled I am going to ram you and came at me again.. stopping a ft. short of my vehicle. I was scared for my life I called 911 and dispatch refused to send State Police.. My 9 yr old and 3 yr old were screaming and crying when this happened. County police showed up and I again requested State. (I have been told his ex sleeps with many county officers) They refused and were very rude to US?? They said we won't be doing anything tonight and didn't even take them to jail. This would not happen in our county. I talked to a police officer over here and he said if we did that we would both be in jail. This officer was so mad at me too for requesting state he was spitting when he talked and spit right in my eye.
What can I do about this. These people threatened my life and endangered my children and I didn't feel any safer with the police there?? Thank you,Diana

Re: Attempted Murder?
On Tuesday go to the Circuit Court of the county IN WHICH YOU LIVE and file for a Personal Protection Order. Do not go to the county where this happened.
