Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

Background: In september I received an MIP in Boulder, Colorado, which was diverted upon completion of alcohol classes. In October, also in Boulder, I received a possession of marijuana charge, which was lowered to just a paraphernalia charge, and am currently in a diversion program for it, which i still have 8 hours of community service to complete for it. The community service is to be done by February 5th and am on unsupervised probation. On new years, I received my second MIP in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

My question is do I still have to complete the community service for my possession or marijuana charge, or have I ruined my chances of getting that charge diverted?

Your Ann Arbor matter should be handled by a Michigan Attorney. You ought to still do your community service. You can probably do it in one day at the salvation army if that's allowed by your PO. Attorney Daniel Hajji 248.865.4700. Contact us if you need help in AA matter.

Three separate arrests for drugs and alcohol in 4 months and you're still underage? Very impressive!

Yes, you should complete the last 8 hours and will likely gain a diversion since you commit offenses so rapidly, the Boulder court probably won't have notice of your latest MIP. Even if it has the notice, the MIP sentence will likely contain community service and you can get credit from both courts.

Oh, don't ask the court about this in Colorado since that will guarantee that you won't be diverted.
