Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

I bought a kitten with no breeding rights. I signed a contract saying I need to show proof of spay by 11/09. It said many other things but that is the one I'm worried about at the moment. I'm sure you are familiar with these contracts. From day 1 the kitten was not really good pet material, she growled, hissed, bit and scratched all of us. She always ran from us. Well, yesterday my son went out to the garage and my other son spooked the kitten somehow. Long story short, the kitten ran outside while the door was open and she will not come to us of course. I actually haven't seen her at all since. Now I'm affraid since I won't be sending her proof of spay that she might possibly sue me or something for breach of contract. Because technically it was partially from negligence. I don't have a job so I'm not sure she could get any successful monetary judgements, but I am concerned. Can I goto jail for this?

Whether you can or cannot go to jail for not paying a judgment is not a criminal law issue. Your question should not be answered in the "Criminal Law" section, where you posted it. You should re-post the question in another area of law at LawGuru, com (for example, civil law, contract law, etc.). Your issues all seem to revolve around this 'contract', and that's not a criminal law problem.
