Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
My boyfriend was arrested this week on a bench warrant for probation violation. During the time he was on probation, they brought up charges from 1999. (Which is why I believe he missed his probation) Those charges were DISMISSED W/O PREJUDICE in 2000. They are felonies. Unauthorized use of motor vehicle, larceny from motor vehicle. He pleaded guilty to probation violation and received 93 days in Co jail. He was arraigned today on the 2 felony Cts. He does not have an atty and asked for one. They set a pre-trial date for sept. 11th. What kind of jail/prison time is he facing? He was 18 when this happened and 28 now with a completely different attitude towards life, taking care of me and my 3 children. I hate to see him spend too much time for this since he was so young and stupid when he did that. Do they take that into consideration AT ALL?
