Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
My boyfriend is being charged with armed robbery, unlawful imprisonment, larceny of a firearm, being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He has a previous record of Robbery Unarmed and Unlawful Imprisonment. The victim who is his childhood friend is lying on him and knows he has a past with all the same charges. There was no proof of any weapon so the lawyers are saying its just the victim word against his. Does he have a chance at all to fight this? He is taking it to court but of course he is afraid of losing because of his prior record.
1 Answer from Attorneys
He may have a chance, but not without some really good representation. He needs to have an experienced criminal defense lawyer on his side because these are extremely serious charges which could send him to prison for the rest of his life.
