Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
My ex boyfriend and I got into a huge argument and I told him that I would call the police if he left without resolving our issue, he actually left and I called the police in hopes that he will be caught driving without a licence. I told police that he assaulted me and wrote a statement claiming he hit me several times knowing that he didn't. was drinking and super emotional.July 2015 we again got into a heated argument, he took my laptop and Left. I called the police to retrieve my property but they said it was a civil matter. So I told them that he assaulted me. in Nov, we got into another heated argument where a friend called the police and wrote a statement, I didn't write a statement but did take pics of scratches on my arm, but it was from my friend holding me back from getting in his face while he was trying to leave. I told the police that we were drinking and that I didn't want to press charges for any of the events because my motive was just get him caught driving without a licence , but the prosecutor decided to press charges on him for all three cases. he's already been arrested and had a 2500 bail, I feel terrible because I fabricated the stories and we are both trying to move on with our life seperately, yes we argued but I was not assaulted. The police nor the prosecutor have no way in contacting me i've moved and have a new number. Is there something I can do to help? this is oakland county Southfield

Assuming you don't want to be arrested for making a false report to the police, have you thought of sending a copy of your question to his mother?
