Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

I have a boyfriend who has an outstanding warrant for possession of marijuana. My roommates refuse to allow me to have him in our apartment because they are afraid of being associated with him in case the cops ever showed up. What is the worst that can happen, to my roommates or myself, if my boyfriend were caught by the police in our apartment, alone, or if he was here with just me, or if he was here with all of us present? This is in Michigan.

First of all your boyfriend is an idiot. Simple possession is not that big a deal - even if he's a repeat offender. He should call the court and find out the amount of his bond, get the money and turn himself in. Absconding is a bigger deal when he's finally arrested (usually a traffic stop) and goes to jail until he raises the money to pay (about 10X the original bond). Also, his ability to plea bargain disappears. Jail time costs $65/day and he won't be able to get his car out of impound - $25/day.

Secondly, it's improbable your roommates will get in trouble. Police rarely knock down doors on a simple possession charge unless its a really really slow day - although you would technically be harboring a fugitive and could all be hauled off to jail - especially if you're smoking weed when they come to the door.
