Is Breaking and entering in MI a felony or misdemeanor?

There is a misdemeanor (Entry Without Permission). There is a felony (Breaking & Entering With Intent). The key difference is the defendant's intent.If you have the intent to steal, etc ... then it would likely be a felony. Oh, and if the place where the b&E happened is a dwelling, then it's a more serious crime called Home Invasion.
