Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
In California, recording phone conversations is legal; however, in Michigan, I was informed it was illegal to record phone conversations. So if a person from California called a person in Michigan, which law do we abide by?

Under Michigan state law, you may record conversations when at least one of the participants knows the recording is occurring and consent to it. So, you can record conversations you are in. But, you cannot record conversations where none of the people in it know it's happening or none consent to it.
