Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
What is this called?
My friend was witness to his friend being murdered and i'm wondering what it is called when he would sue the person responsable for the murder. Some are saying pain and suffering. Is that the term I'm looking for when we go to contact a lawyer?

The term you are looking for is intentional infliction of emotional distress. But if your friend was not related by blood or marriage to the one who was murdered, he will have no right to sue merely for witnessing the event. For him to be able to sue, he would have to be injured also.
