does a father have to testify against his son?

There is no legal privilege protecting communications between father and son, nor is there any right that a father can invoke to avoid testifying against his son.
Legalities aside, there is only one event that all of us, without exception, have to eventually experience - i.e. death.
I know of no father who involuntarily testified against his son.
