Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

For any case, when will you know how much the costs are? when will the judge tell you how much you must pay? my arraignment is in a month, but i havent been told anything. ill be pleading not guilty, so will he tell me what my costs are then? or during my pretrial? i want to know so i wont show up at my arraignment and receive any surprises. this is my first time doing this. soo looking for wise positive answers

You should contact the court clerk's office (or probation department) to get a ballpark idea of these costs and assessments. Since you don't tell US (i) what the crimes are; (ii) what court you are in; (iii) which judge you have; (iv) etc., we can't give you any useful answers beyond "Call the court". Some assessments/costs are standardized (including a state minimum cost and a crime victim rights assessment fee). But other costs that might be assessed are determined by the judge ... usually based on a fee schedule adopted by THAT court. Other financial issues that come into play on a case-by-case basis include the amount of FINE a judge might impose for your crime (which varies with the crime, with the judge, etc.), plus issues of restitution, etc. All of those are too varied for us to guesstimate here.
