Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

if you are charged with third degree retail fraud, its your FIRST offense, and you are between the age of 17-19, whats the worst that could happen, or least that could occur? under what circumstances or what would have to happen enable for you to actually be sentenced to 93 days in jail? the merchandise was only $30.

please help asap~

You're not going to jail. I think I talked to you on the phone today. Plead not guilty at your arraignment and ask for a court appointed attorney who will see that it doesn't go on your record at the later pretrial. I f you run into difficulty, you can call me from the outside the court before you see the judge(no picture phones allowed inside).
