Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

I'm being charged with "false rx". I was not in possession of the prescription the entire time. I had two passengers that had contact with it. The passengers are unknown friends i was giving a ride. We stopped at the gas station so they could pick up some visine and in my absence they altered my script. I feel they were going to steal it but forgot to take it. The script was dropped of at the pharmacy but when i went to pick it up they told me it couldn't be filled and to contact my doctors office. When i did that the manager said the "dosage had been altered". I was extremely confused and tried to call back again but was transferred to an Officer. I told him what happened and now i have a summons to appear in court for "false rx". What should i do? What are the charges involved with something like that? I have no priors and have been cooperating to the fullest extent.

Just so you know - lying to the police during an investigation is itself a crime.

I'd leave out the part " The passengers are unknown friends i was giving a ride. We stopped at the gas station so they could pick up some visine and in my absence they altered my script."
