Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
I've been charged with violation of license restrictions in Michigan, I paid for a lawyer but he only got me to a jury trial and is now requesting more money. I'm curious if I should plead guilty and just get this over with. Would I go to jail for this?( it is my first offense) what would the punishment be and what should I do at my next court date? Thank you!

Many lawyers, myself included, charge a flat fee for criminal cases up to, but not including, a jury trial. Jury trials are very costly and require a great deal of time and effort for both the prosecution and the defendant.
In any event, you won't be going to jail on a first offense misdemeanor.
