Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
I was convicted of Attempted Uttering and Publishing In July of 2008, and I was wondering when and if I could get these charges taken off my record

If this is your one and only criminal conviction (misdemeanor or felony) ... anywhere ... then that's step 1. Step 2 is that you have to wait 5 years or more after your sentencing date to petition the court where you were convicted for expunction. You said "chargeS" (not "charge"), so were there multiple counts? If so, you cannot do anything because multiple counts = multiple convictions. It's not a "one docket number" issue. Another thing: if you have an innocuous traffic misdemeanor conviction like driving on a suspended license or even no license in possession, then you are out of luck because that means you have multiple convictions.
