Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
Is it possible to have a conviction changed after sentencing? For example, I plead guilty to armed robbery in 1995 (used a pellet gun never pulled out just mentioned during robbery). I now understand that under Michigan Law this crime carries a potential for a life sentence. I would like to apply for an expungement but now fear that I am ineligible because of the possible max sentence. Is their any other possibilities for me? This is my one and only conviction and I am lost as to what I can do next. Is asking for a pardon from the Governor possible?

You should consult with an attorney who does expungements and seek his or her advice on the particulars of your case. The attorney would have to pull your criminal history to determine if you are eligible for expungement.
