Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

Can I get a copy of the evidence against me?

I am being charged with csc with a minor. First they said that there was evidence that I did it , then they said there was no evidence found. My court appointed lawyer says that we can not get copies of this. If I fire him and reprenst myself can I get that information? Also the child in question was never talked to or examined till 3 months after the fact. Noone that had contact with the child was tested, is it my right to have someone else tested?

Court appointed lawyers are an interesting bunch. We get lots of complaints about them. I disagree with the information that you've received. REPRESENT YOURSELF? ON A FELONY CASE? Hey, that's a terrific idea. About as terrific as doing surgery on yourself. You're probably about equally qualified to practice law and practice surgery. Hey, while you're practicing law defending yourself in a major felony case, don't forget to pack your toothbrush to take to prison with you.
