Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
Credit Application
I opened a credit account for a significant other while she was on the phone with me for the care of her animal. It was her request and I had her permission. I signed her name. Now that we are not together, she has defaulted on the credit card and threatening to turn me in to the credit card fraud department for forgery because they are suing her for the money unless I pay the bill. Am I at a legal risk for criminal charges?

You are at risk. I recommend that you be proactive at trying to prevent criminal charges being filed against you. Hiring an experienced and aggressive attorney is a good idea. Doing that now might save you a lot of money and trouble down the line.
