Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

criminal Jurisdiction

I am helping a friend who is facing federal charges at the U.S. 6 District Court in Eastern Michigan on I.R.S. Fraud. We have challenged criminal jurisdiction. I want to go into the intent of Congress. Does any one know which federalist Paper talks about the Judicial Branch of the fed Government.

Re: criminal Jurisdiction

If I read this right, you can do your friend much more harm than good taking this approach.

The jurisdiction of the IRS to collect taxes has been litigated many times, by all sorts of groups (fringe radicals and others) and it's an absolute loser of an argument.

Worse than that, it's evidence of bad faith and can get fines and costs imposed far above what would otherwise be imposed, for wasting the court's time with frivolous arguments.
