Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

CSC cases

I am doing a term paper on CSC cases that are unfair. I know someone that was charged w/ CSC because his girlfriend got pregnant, and now he has to register as a sex offender. (The girls mother even went to court on his behalf telling the judge that ''He did not rape my daughter, and that it was just as much her fault as it was his''.) I'm not saying that there shouldn't have been a punishment, I just don't think that they should lump all cases into one catagory, each case should be concideredby the facts of that particular case and then the punishment should fit the crime. For my paper I need to know how to find out about other cases and where to look for information on both sides of the issue. Also are there different laws for each state concerning CSC?

Every state has its own laws. There are also Federal laws.
