Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
My daughter was molested can she sue?
My daughter was molested by her babysitters husband in 1998. Because this family has no money I've been told that she can't sue. Is this true?

It is not true. You can certainly hire a lawyer to sue.

Re: My daughter was molested can she sue?
A large part of the decision making is dependent upon your daughter's current age. If she is still a minor, you can sue. If not, you have one year to sue after her 18th birthday.
However, many lawyers will not sue if the molester has no assets or a job even though a judgment is good for 10 years and can be renewed for another 10.
